We want to encourage experienced rowers to join the club so we have established a guest rower program. Try rowing with us! Check the event calendar to find the next open row.
Visiting Port Townsend?
We enjoy rowing at other rowing clubs around the country and the world. We offer reciprocal rowing arrangements for members of other clubs. Our guest policy also allows lapsed rowers to join us on the beautiful waters of Port Townsend Bay.
Experienced guest rowers are welcome to row with RIRSC members up to three times per rowing year. Former members of RIRSC who still reside in the area are not eligible for this benefit. (This new wording was approved at the April 14, 2009 RIRSC Board Meeting.)
We ask that you do two things:
- Demonstrate to the row organizer that you know how to row sweep or sculling in a sliding seat shell. Mention your membership of a rowing club or college experience.
- All guest rowers must read, complete and sign a waiver of liability form.
If you want to continue rowing with us after your third row you can either join the club or use our pay per row scheme.
