7.     Additional classes of membership and dues structure

The board unanimously approved the following motions for additional classes of membership:

a.     A pay as you go membership:

1.     Individuals pay a yearly administration fee of $50, take the float test and complete a waiver.

2.     To row in this class of membership an individual will need to purchase, in advance, a $50 “Punchcards” which is good for 10 rows. These punchcards are non transferable and valid for a year from the date of purchase.

3.     If you plan to row thirty or more times a year then full membership is better as it  allows you unlimited rowing.

b.     Guest  Membership for  Experienced Rowers

1.     Experienced rowers are welcome to row with the club three times in any year.

2.     Guest members will complete a waiver.

c.     Non-Rowing Members who provide service to the club

1.     Non rowing members such as Coxes and Launch Drivers will have the membership dues waived. They will need to take the float test and complete a waiver.

Caveat: The board will continue to work on and refine the membership and dues structure. Our goal is to be as inclusive as is practical. We welcome creative suggestions from club members and the rowing community.

8.     New Business

a.     The Board approved a motion to purchase a cart for the launch. Anticipated cost around $400. Gordon Misselt will investigate buying or borrowing a cart from the WBF.

b.     The board tabled a motion from Ted Shoulberg to begin negotiations for an early ‘90s C8 from PLU.

c.     The next board meeting will be on Tuesday July 19th at 7:00pm in Tim & Teresa Lawson’s house at 857 Tyler Street (the house hiding behind the Holly trees at the junction with Garfield Street).
